Prepared. For Life.

The BSA provides the nation’s foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training, which helps young people be “Prepared. For Life.®”

Scouting teaches youth to confront any challenge with whole hearts and clear minds—to live their lives without regret, never back down, and do their very best!

The Values of Scouting

Nothing highlights the fun and excitement of Scouting like being in the outdoors. Whether it’s day camp, summer camp, or a fun activity with friends, getting outside is what kids want to do! And no one does ”the outdoors” better than the BSA.

Scout Oath: On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent. by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.

Through fun yet challenging physical and mental activities, Scouting encourages personal growth by teaching youth how to set goals and achieve them with determination.

In Scouting, we will not compromise the safety of our youth, volunteers, and employees. Safety is a value that must be taught and reinforced at every opportunity. We are all responsible and must hold each other accountable to provide a safe environment for all participants.

Scouting is something the whole family can experience together. We designed our program so that anyone—brothers, sisters, mothers, and fathers—can have fun and make an impact!

The BSA promotes a culture where youth, volunteers, and employees feel a sense of belonging—where every person feels respected and valued. We welcome families of all backgrounds to help prepare young people to serve as successful members and leaders of our nation’s diverse communities.

Teaching leadership & values while providing recreational activities for children of all ages.

The Cradle of Liberty Council, headquartered in Wayne, PA serves thousands of young people and their families Philadelphia, Delaware and Montgomery Counties.

We are among the largest youth serving organizations in Pennsylvania led by thousands of volunteers. Hundreds of community organizations, representing educational, religious, non-profit, civic, and business organizations join in partnership with Cradle of Liberty Council by chartering or sponsoring units (packs, troops, crews, ships, and posts).

If you are new to Scouting, let us introduce you and your children to a world where they will build lifetime friendships, while learning leadership skills, active citizenship, personal fitness, and practical knowledge through their participation in a diverse array of activities including camping excursions, summer programs for teens and much, much more.

From Cub Scouting, with thrilling outdoor programs such as camping, and other outdoor adventures – on to Scouts BSA and Venturers, with camporees, summer camps, Scouting shows, and national jamborees – families can enjoy building a lifetime of experiences unmatched by other organizations. This experience can lead to The Order of the Arrow, Scouting’s national camping honor society to obtain the rank of Eagle Scout, extending their participation from teen years well on into adulthood.
