1. The Franklin Institute
One of the oldest centers of science education in the US, The Franklin Institute offers twelve permanent exhibit galleries and a wide range of interactive activities. Stargaze in the planetarium, climb aboard a 350-ton locomotive, take to the skies in the flight simulator, see what it’s like to give a weather forecast on TV, and a whole lot more!
2. Please Touch Museum
Visit one of the best children’s museums in the nation! The Please Touch Museum has been the Children’s Museum of Philadelphia for almost 40 years and has two floors of interactive exhibits encourage learning through play.
4. Philadelphia Zoo
The oldest zoo in the US and home to more than 1,300 animals, many of them rare and endangered. Features an up-close and personal children’s zoo called KidZooU, swan paddleboats, a rainforest-themed carousel, and many interactive and educational exhibits.
5. The Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University
Explore the wonders of the world at America’s oldest natural history museum. Exhibits include a hands-on discovery center for children, dinosaur skeletons and an indoor butterfly garden.
