Scouting simply wouldn’t happen without volunteers. Nationally, nearly 1.2 million adult volunteers serve Scouting in a variety of roles; Tiger Cub den leaders, executive board members, camporee chairs, Scoutmasters, campmasters—you name it. In just the three Pennsylvania counties that the Cradle of Liberty Council covers, 5,000 adult leaders dedicate their time and resources week in and week out, not because they have to, but because they want to help shape the future. They want to give boys and young men and women opportunities to learn, grow and be better citizens. Opportunities that many kids would not otherwise have without Scouting and the volunteers who make it happen.
Thank you to each and every one of our volunteers for your service to Scouting, during this National Volunteer Week and for every day you give back to your communities. It is because of you that the Boy Scouts of America remains the foremost youth program of character development and values-based leadership training in America.
